Tuesday was our first CSA harvest and delivery day. All went smooth in the pack out. Each member we harvested for received bagged salad mix and spinach, one head of romaine, three pints of strawberries, one bunch of basil, a head of broccoli, one pound of zucchini, one bunch of radish, and one bunch of kale. The pick up site in Eugene is at the Crux Climbing Gym and at the farmstand on Wednesdays. The feedback from members was very positive and we are already looking forward to the next CSA harvest....sugar snap peas, green onions, beets and more goodies!
Folks have already begun calling and stopping by the farm for u-pick strawberries. We are not yet open to the public but plan on opening Saturday, June 4th. We still have lots of work to do to fix up our farmstand and that is on the docket for this weekend. We will definitely keep folk posted on u-pick updates through our email list as well as our website. If people really want berries sooner than later we are at the Veneta Market every Saturday and on Thursdays we can be found at the Whiteaker Community Market in downtown Eugene.
Aside from all the harvesting, processing and field work, we finally got a banner printed for our market booth! Now just need to find time to design our roadside sign. If you're driving on Territorial Highway and you see the sign for Stillpoint Farm, that's where we're at. In time the sign will have our farm's name on it.
Thanks again and again for all the support. We are filled with so much optimism for the success of our first year as Ambrosia Farm. Till next time.
